Energy Scavenging

Products

Energy harvesting (or scavenging): there is a lot of energy in the environment which can be used to power electronic and electromechanical devices in a wireless way. Whenever something vibrates (a running car, a walking man, etc.) electric energy can be recovered from the mechanical energy, which would be otherwise wasted.

Energy harvesters are a hot topic in energetics: they convert environmental energy into electricity. Encrea owns the best performant miniature energy harvester in the world (patented) in terms of output energy density.

Encrea has been appointed contractor of CRIM lab at Scuola Sant’Anna to fabricate an energy converter to
be connected to an internal combustion microengine to be developed in the framework of an international
research project funded by the European Commission
.
